RETURNS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES POLICY

1. Purpose
At Braais & Bikinis, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. This Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy explains your rights and our procedures regarding returns, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds.
This policy is intended to comply with applicable South African legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA").
2. Interpretation
For purposes of this policy:
- "Customer" means any person purchasing products from Braais & Bikinis.
- "Goods" means products sold through our website.
- "Business Day" means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday in South Africa.
- "Website" means the Braais & Bikinis online store and related digital platforms.
3. Cooling-Off Rights for Online Transactions
Where applicable under Section 44 of ECTA, customers may cancel certain online purchases within seven (7) days after receiving the goods without providing a reason.
To exercise this right, customers must notify Braais & Bikinis in writing within the prescribed period by emailing:
Returned goods should be sent back in substantially the same condition in which they were received.
The customer may be responsible for the direct costs of returning the goods where permitted by law.
Braais & Bikinis will process any refund due in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
4. Voluntary Returns Policy
In addition to any rights provided by law, Braais & Bikinis may, at its discretion, accept returns within fourteen (14) days from the date of delivery.
To qualify for a discretionary return:
- The item must be unused;
- The item must be unworn;
- The item must be unwashed;
- The item must be free from stains, odours, perfumes, deodorants, makeup, tanning products, or damage;
- Original tags must remain attached;
- Original packaging must be included where applicable;
- The item must be in a resalable condition.
Braais & Bikinis reserves the right to reject any discretionary return that does not meet these requirements.
5. Swimwear Returns and Hygiene Requirements
Due to hygiene considerations, swimwear may only be returned or exchanged where:
- The garment has not been worn other than for fitting purposes;
- The hygiene liner remains fully intact and attached;
- All tags remain attached;
- The garment is returned in its original condition;
- The garment is free from signs of wear, washing, staining, perfumes, deodorants, tanning products, or other contamination.
For hygiene reasons, Braais & Bikinis reserves the right to refuse returns that do not comply with these requirements.
Nothing in this section limits any rights a customer may have in respect of defective, unsafe, damaged, or incorrectly supplied goods.
6. Defective, Damaged or Incorrectly Supplied Goods
Customers should inspect their orders promptly upon delivery.
If goods are:
- Defective;
- Damaged;
- Unsafe;
- Not of acceptable quality;
- Not reasonably suitable for their intended purpose; or
- Incorrectly supplied,
the customer should contact Braais & Bikinis as soon as reasonably possible.
Customers may be requested to provide:
- Photographs of the product;
- A description of the issue;
- Proof of purchase;
- The order number; and
- Any other information reasonably required to assess the claim.
Where the CPA applies, customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with applicable law.
7. Six-Month CPA Warranty
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights available under Section 56 of the CPA.
Where goods fail to satisfy the standards contemplated in Section 55 of the CPA within six (6) months after delivery, customers may be entitled to remedies provided by law, including repair, replacement, or refund, subject to the provisions of the CPA.
8. Exchanges
Subject to stock availability, Braais & Bikinis may offer exchanges for:
- Different sizes;
- Different colours;
- Alternative products.
If the requested replacement item is unavailable, Braais & Bikinis may offer a refund, store credit, or alternative product.
Exchange requests remain subject to inspection and approval.
9. Non-Returnable Items
Unless defective, damaged, unsafe, or incorrectly supplied, the following items are generally not eligible for return:
- Worn swimwear;
- Washed garments;
- Products with removed hygiene liners;
- Products with removed tags;
- Personalised products;
- Custom-made products;
- Gift cards or vouchers;
- Products damaged through misuse, negligence, improper care, or normal wear and tear.
10. Return Procedure
To request a return, exchange, or refund, customers must contact:

The request should include:
- Full name;
- Order number;
- Contact details;
- Reason for return; and
- Supporting photographs where applicable.
Braais & Bikinis will provide instructions regarding the return process.
Goods should not be returned without prior approval.
11. Return Shipping Costs
11.1 Defective or Incorrect Goods
Where goods are defective, damaged before delivery, unsafe, or incorrectly supplied, Braais & Bikinis may arrange collection of the goods or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.
11.2 Change-of-Mind Returns
For discretionary returns, including size changes or change-of-mind purchases, customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Original delivery charges are generally non-refundable unless required by law.
12. Refund Processing
Once returned goods have been received and inspected, Braais & Bikinis will notify the customer of the outcome of the return request.
Approved refunds will generally be processed through the original payment method used for the purchase.
Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, banking institution, and payment method used.
Approved refunds typically reflect within five (5) to ten (10) business days after processing.
13. Refusal of Returns
Braais & Bikinis reserves the right to refuse discretionary returns where:
- The return conditions in this policy are not met;
- Products show signs of use;
- Hygiene requirements have not been complied with;
- Products have been altered or damaged;
- False or misleading information has been provided; or
- The applicable return period has expired.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights afforded to consumers under applicable law.
14. Statutory Consumer Rights
This policy must be read together with all rights granted to consumers under applicable South African law.
Nothing contained in this policy shall be interpreted as excluding, limiting, waiving, or restricting any rights that cannot legally be excluded under:
- The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008;
- The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002; or
- Any other applicable legislation.
